Depending on your specific location on the Sunshine Coast, different recycling, organics, and garbage services are provided to you. In more rural areas and areas like Pender Harbour and Egmont, residents may need to self-haul residential garbage or hire a private hauler. The Town of Gibsons currently provides separate pick-ups for garbage and organics but as of 2020, you're expected to take your recycling to the Gibsons Recycling Depot. Sechelt provides curbside recycling and garbage pick-up but no organic pick-up. Again, as of 2020, organic pick-up is going through a trial-run in Davis Bay before being district-wide in the future. In addition to its recycling depot, Gibsons also has a green yard waste depot on Henry Road which means there's no excuse to throw your clippings into the neighbour’s yard!
